'"The Wood of Memories” by Max Pelagatti
"The wood of memories” is an exhibition by the photographer Max Pelagatti Photography & Training, offered by the Elle Elle – Lingua e Linguaggi association.
Born in Japan to a Japanese mother and an Italian father, Max Pelagatti is the result of a twofold culture. He divided his childhood between Italy and Japan. During his adolescence, he returned to Italy with his father after the death of his mother. His exhibition, entitled "The wood of memories", highlights the Marcinelle mining tragedy of 8 August 1956, where 262 men died, more than half of whom were Italian nationals.
It will be hosted at the Grand Curtius museum from Saturday 10 to Saturday 24 November 2018.
This exhibition is organised as part of the PesLi project, which aims to promote and strengthen exchanges between the city of Liège and the city of Pescara (Italy).
It will end after a meeting on 10 November, which is based on the theme "The black faces of yesterday, today and tomorrow". This includes the photo exhibition, a conference with sociologist Jonathan Collin and an aperitif with the flavours of Italy! More info at the bottom of the page!
