Game of mirrors

Liège and Tournai are two cities on the fringes of southern and Latin Belgium and two border cities.

But Liège and Tournai also boast two formidable collections of paintings. These were formed in similar conditions and, for the first time in our regions and maybe elsewhere, the regions have decided to combine their most beautiful old and modern masterpieces and present them in an exciting "game of mirrors”, assigning meaning to them in terms of universal history and humanity.

Teniers, Defrance, Courbet, Fantin-Latour, Rigaud, Jordaens, de Braekeleer, Mellery, Stevens, Ingres, Delacroix, Gauguin, Magritte, Toulouse-Lautrec and more are just some of the guests invited to this unique and original event.
