Des « barbares » dans l’empire romain
Exhibition of objects exhumed during digs at the archaeological site of Nereth in Baelen.
During the construction of the high-speed line in Baelen in 2005, excavations showed that the village of Nereth had been occupied by Germans since the 4th century. The remains had then been updated. An exhibition entitled “'Barbarians' in the Roman Empire", which attests to the excavations of the Germanic settlement of Baelen/Nereth, can be viewed at the Grand Curtius museum, in the room dedicated to archaeological research in the Walloon Region.
